Two More Chances to Catch “Upstream”

If you’re in New York or San Francisco, and still haven’t seen John Ford’s Upstream, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will screen it on Monday, June 20, at the Academy Theater in New York, while the San Francisco Silent Film Festival will show it on Thursday, July 14, at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

Not in those towns? Why not see about bringing it to your neighborhood, soon?

The 1927 Ford silent, backstage drama was among presumed-lost films discovered in the New Zealand Film Archive in 2010, repatriated to the US, and placed under the care of the National Film Preservation Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Library of Congress’s National Film Preservation Board.
