National Society of Film Critics Heritage Awards

The National Society of Film Critics has announced its annual awards – voted by film critics, naturally enough – and as always included a slate of honorees in its “Film Heritage” category, to recognize the efforts of archives and archivists.
Listed with the winners are the archives that restored the films, as reported by Dennis Doros on the listserv of the Association of Moving Image Archivists.

1. The Film Foundation (20-year anniversary)
2. Chaplin at Keystone (Flicker Alley with Lobster Films, Film Preservation Associates, Cineteca di Bologna, British Film Institute NFTVA, UCLA Film & Television Archive)
3. Elia Kazan Collection (Fox)
4. Upstream, rediscovered 1927 film dir. by John Ford. (National Film Preservation Foundation, Fox, Academy Film Archive, New Zealand Film Archive)
5. On the Bowery (restored by Davide Pozzi of the Cineteca di Bologna in cooperation with the Rogosin Heritage and Anthology Film Archives)
6. Word Is Out (restored by Ross Lipman, the UCLA Film & Television Archive and the Outfest Legacy Project)
